Visual thinking is a learning style where the learner better understands and retains information when ideas, words and concepts are associated with images.

Research tells us that the majority of students in a regular classroom need to 👁👁information in order to learn it. The visual learner remembers 75% of what they read or see.

Generally, analytic visual learners will process the printed word before iconic (pictorial) information; global visual learners will process iconic (pictorial) information before reading the printed text.

What does that mean for our classrooms? Statistically,  65% of the population learns visually. Therefore, in a standard classroom of 18, approximately 11 will be visual learners, and I have tried to translate my learning experience and techniques for visual learning into a pedagogy that encourages all students to maximize their potential for learning.
